A Grey-DeMATeL MeThoDoLoGy for Green SuppLier DeveLop- MenT proGrAM evALuATion A Grey-DEMATEL Methodology for Green Supplier Development Program Evaluation

Supplier development is necessary as organizations and industries are competing on the capabilities of their supply chains and not necessarily their own individual organizations. Supplier development evaluation through formal modeling and decision support approaches is limited in the literature. Formal modeling tools to aid managers in evaluating green supplier development programs are virtually nonexistent. This paper seeks to help fill the gap in this literature by presenting a managerial approach for organizations to help structure the influence relationships amongst green supplier development programs. We initially introduce the categories of green supplier development programs that may exist. In our study we utilize multi-functional managerial inputs on relationships amongst their green supplier development programs. These managerial inputs are evaluated using a grey-DEMATEL methodology. The grey-DEMATEL results in a prominence-causal diagram that provides managerial insights into the relationships amongst their green supplier development programs. Managerial and research implications of the proposed study, limitations and future research directions are also detailed.
